Microsoft has announced a new line of laptops called CoPilot + PC pretty much driven by AI.
👉 Background: Microsoft, which was founded all the way back in 1975, is the largest company in the whole wide world based on its $3 trillion US dollars market cap. It sits one spot ahead of its rival Apple.
👉 What happened: Now, Microsoft has announced a new line of laptops called CoPilot + PC. This laptop uses new computer chips that are similar to phone chips to improve speed and battery life. But that ain't all - it’s pretty much an AI driven-machine.
👉 What else: Essentially, they want it to be like your business and personal assistant. This announcement is significant because it combines Microsoft's history of PC's with its future of AI-first products.
💡If you don’t reinvent yourself over and over again, you risk losing your relevance for good.
💡Microsoft has shown a pretty skilful art of transformation throughout its 40 year life span by continuously adapting its business model to stay ahead of the tech- curve. They started selling computers in 1975, pivoted its way into operating systems in 1980s, and then became a productivity behemoth Microsoft Office which was released in 1990s.
💡Just as Microsoft’s relevance began to decline around 2014, it pulled cloud computing out of its magical hat. And now, in its possibly grandest pivot, it has focused deeply on AI with its partnership with OpenAI.
