Google is working on a competitor to OpenAI called "Bard".
👉 Background: When ChatGPT launched at the end of November last year, it took the tech world by storm.
👉 What happened: This new AI chatbot and its partnership with Microsoft was billed as a potential giant-killer for Google. But now, Google has announced that it’s working on a competitor to OpenAI called Bard.
👉 What else: It will supposedly answer users’ queries and take part in conversations, but currently it's only available to a group of “trusted testers”. Google’s CEO says that Bard draws on information from the current internet - unlike ChatGPT which is as of 2021.
