F45 announces record revenue

I'm starting to think sweaty high fives may be the answer to all life's problems.

What's the key learning?

  • F45 has reported its first earnings as a public company, showing total revenue increased 63%
  • For a company that wants to grow globally… and grow fast... franchise models are often the quickest ways to get there
  • The franchise model means that F45 HQ provides standard procedures but they let the franchise owners do much of the hard work.

Background: F45 is the Aussie gym that started back in 2011 in NSW. It's a pretty simple concept. Each workout is 45 minutes - mainly focusing on high-intensity interval training (HIIT) and sweaty high fives.

What happened: There are over 1,750 F45 gyms in 45 countries and they listed on the New York Stock Exchange last year. Now, F45 has reported its first earnings as a public company.

What else:

Total revenue increased by 63%

✅ ✅ Adjusted EBITDA increased by 104%

✅ ✅ ✅ The plan is to open another 1,000 franchised gyms in 2022

🔔 What's the key learning?

💡 For a company that wants to grow globally… and grow fast... franchise models are often the quickest ways to get there. F45 HQ doesn’t need to worry about leasing a site, purchasing gym equipment or community management.

💡The franchise model means that F45 HQ provides standard procedures but they let the franchise owners do much of the hard work.

💡There are now over 1,000 franchisees who have bought the rights to open an F45 globally this year. So it’s no surprise that they’re now the #1 gym franchisor in the world.
