CNN breaks news and breaks hearts after laying off 6% of its workforce as it struggles to compete in the digital age  

CNN has warned that it will cut 6% of its workforce as part of plan to re-shape its business to be more “digitally focused”.

It revolutionised the industry after it was the first TV channel to provide 24 hour news coverage. But, as cable or pay-TV has declined globally, so too has CNN’s viewership which was down nearly 14% from just 2 years ago.

👉 What happened: Now, CNN has warned that it will cut 6% of its workforce as part of plan to re-shape its business to be more “digitally focused”. As part of this, it is planning on creating a digital product that will allow customers to stream the channel through multiple online platforms.
