Beyoncé has launched a whiskey line: all the single malt ladies, put your hands up

Beyoncé has launched a new whiskey line in collaboration with Moet Hennessy, the company owned by LVMH.

What's the key learning?

  • Celebrities have a huge leverage when they use their popularity for business.
  • However, there are times this isn't the case, as with Beyonce's partnership with Adidas for her Ivy Park line.
  • So, It’s fair to say that after some failures with her clothing brand Ivy Park, it seems like the alcohol industry in the way to go for Beyonce, and perhaps the same with other celebrities who wish to venture into business.

👉 Background: We know Beyoncé as the OG star behind Destiny’s Child, the Queen of the Beyhive, and of course for her love for Texas Hold’em.

👉 What happened: Now, Beyoncé has launched a new whiskey line in collaboration with Moet Hennessy, the company owned by LVMH. It's called SirDavis and is named after her great grandfather who used to moonshine whiskey.

👉 What else: This ain’t Beyonce’s first venture into the business world. She has a perfume, had a clothing brand with Adidas, and, now is the latest Hollywood celebrity to collab with a major alcohol brand.

What's the key learning?

💡Celebrity endorsements have always had a big impact on sales for brands, but they seem to have an especially strong impact on alcohol brands.
