Apple's just unveiled their biggest, baddest new product at its annual Worldwide Developers Conference.
👉 Background: We know Apple plays a mean game when it comes to launching new products - think back to when the first iPhone came out in 2007, or when the Apple Watch first came out in 2015.
👉 What happened: Now, Apple's just unveiled their biggest, baddest new product at its annual Worldwide Developers Conference: the Augmented Reality/Virtual Reality headset called Vision Pro. We're talking:
👉 What else: VR headsets aren't a new concept, but Apple's going to have to bring something major to the table to get consumers to shell out $3,500 USD.
💡VR headsets have struggled to click with mainstream audiences so far... And the Vision Pro could be Apple's biggest boom, or potentially a bust.
💡Meta's Oculus devices and Sony's Playstation headsets launched to big fanfare, but we haven't really seen VR headsets make it big and hit the mainstream market so far.
💡The headset market has dropped 54% in global sales over the last year. They're uncomfortable to wear and not exactly a convenient piece of technology at the moment...but if anyone knows how to prove the skeptics wrong and ace user experience... it's Apple.
